We focus on one individual per session and spend the hour teaching 4th and 5th graders about his or her background, influence in society, and activism. Previous individuals have included Sonya Sotomayor and Colin Kaepernick.

We will be hosting a parent-student dance class to encourage parent involvement in the school. Parents and students will come dressed at "twins" or in the same color to make it a fun way for them to connect. After learning and performing the dance for others, we will talk about the foundations of healthy lifestyles and fun ways to get active.

Downtown Women's Center: Necessities Drive

At the close of each semester, M&E brings together organizations and individuals committed to working with the local community. This semester we aim to pack 400 Hygiene Kits and Holiday gifts for the Downtown Women’s Center. To accomplish this we will need financial and physical contributions for shampoo, conditioner, lotion, feminine products, Ralph's gift cards. If you or your organization are interested in contributing please email info@motivateandempower.org. Motivate & Empower, in conjunction with USC Viterbi Adopt-a-School, Adopt-a-Teacher (VAST), is inviting local schools to experience STEM at USC. Elementary and middle school students will be getting a tour around campus and then will have an opportunity to create computer games, play engineering games and meet many STEM-focused USC students.

You are invited to sign up as a tour guide, group leader, Tech Prep, or event coordinator for our first large service event of the semester!
